Easter is quickly approaching. April is such a beautiful time of year. The gardens are coming into their own and the weather, in Houston at least, is spectacular. Kirby and Pepper are at the store today and love basking in the morning sun right in front of one of our Easter displays. We have such a great variety of Spring gifts and florals. Even sweets and toys for your kiddos Easter baskets. I am not sure if they make Easter dog treats, these two deserve a couple after the morning photo shoot!

Royal Crown Derby Alligator. The new Alligator has been designed by Marlee Fletcher, who has used design elements that reflect the shapes of the Alligator scales and skin patterns, and create an abstract blend of different textures. Marlee was inspired by the Art Deco style, well known for its bold zig zag designs and has recreated the look magnificently on this new piece. To soften the hard geometric areas stylized flower sand leaves from the same era were used. The muted colors reflect this predators watery habitat, while the red and black add drama, creating a focal point on the Alligator's back and along its tail. The rich 22 carat gold provides a transition between the areas of pattern.

Royal Crown Derby Bison Paperweight - North American Exclusive

The Bison is the symbolic animal of the Great Plains, and are formidable beasts with large sharp horns and thick shaggy coats. They are the heaviest land animals in North America. Designer John Ablitt drew his inspiration for the decoration of this handsome piece whilst visiting the Smithsonian Museum of American Indian Art in New York. He was amazed at the beautiful bead work and use of porcupine quills to adorn moccasins and leather work and has sensitively decorated our Bison as a homage to North American Indian Art and culture.
John has designed a beautiful Albino Bison
which was sacred to the Plains Indian Tribes and was often seen as a sign of great changes
in the world. To some tribes it was a blessing. Others believed it was a sign of peace, prosperity, unity and hope.
